In the US because this is just coming on line and more farmers are growing Hemp crops for food, it is most likely imported usually from Canada.
Cannabis oil is one of the healthy fats. half of the weight in hemp seed is from oil. Of that half 75% of it is essential fatty acids. of that 20% is omega 3, alpha-linoleic acid (ALA). 3% is gamma-linoleic acid. omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of hemp oil is 3:1. this is a very good reason why if should be added to your diet.
Another element that it has that is great is chlorophyll, which is known to help prevent cancer. That green color of hemp oil or butter is chlorophyll.
It’s high in protein. 25% plus is protein. Some types of Hemp are even higher. Whey protein is 70% protein per 100 grams. Some varieties match that. The difference is this is plant based. A plant biologist at Colorado State University named Gavin Stonehouse started doing tests by planting hemp in soil samples with various levels of selenium. What is selenium? It’s a mineral that occurs naturally all over the western part of the US. The problem with selenium is that it’s a nasty environmental pollutant. It’s also a nutrient that works as an antioxidant when found naturally in food. Studies have not found any conclusive benefits but it seems to increase the risk of non-melanoma skin cancer.
What we wanted to know is can planting help reduce levels of selenium in the soil? If it does this would prove that hemp naturally cleans soils contaminated with a multitude of toxic substances. In 2014 Colorado passed a bill that legalized industrial Help agriculture and other states such as Arizona have recently followed. Even ultra-conservative Republican Mitch McConnell has supported including Hemp cultivation in the farm bill for 2018. Initial testing are encouraging. It’s very possible that growing hemp in contaminated soil is an organic method to cleaning up toxic soil.
Hemp is a hardy plant that grows like a week states the article in Rolling Stone. It could very well be the savior of life on this planet because of all the potential uses. The article does caution that a hemp based future is not exactly green. There are drawbacks like other industrial agriculture.
So there is good news for a change. The President has reversed course or appears to have reversed an attitude of the current administration toward states that have legalized and or Medical Cannabis policies. The attorney general early on reversed the Obama administration policy to not target states that have legal policies in place.
President Trump is inclined to support bi-partician legislation in congress to ease the ban on Marijuana. This is also a win for states rights as the bill would help change the federal government’s policy of treating Cannabis as a class 4 drug similar to LSD and recreational drugs that are clearly not being used for medical benefit.
Jeff Sessions stated that his view remains that the federal policy is to treat it like heroin and cocaine. But he added let’s see how much support it has.
